How Bible Answer & Prayer Works
Bible Answer & Prayer is a voice-based biblical guidance tool. You speak into your device’s microphone, your voice is recorded and converted into a text transcript on your device, and that transcript is sent to a third-party AI service (OpenAI) for analysis. The AI generates a biblical confrontation, relevant scripture references, and a personalized prayer based on your words. Your original audio recording never leaves your device.
What Data We Collect and How
The following describes every type of data Bible Answer & Prayer collects, how it is collected, and how it is used:
1. Voice Recordings
Collected via your device’s microphone when you hold the record button and speak. Stored locally on your device only. Never uploaded to any server. Never shared with any third party. You can delete recordings at any time within the app.
2. Text Transcripts
Generated from your voice recording on your device. Sent to OpenAI’s API solely for the purpose of generating biblical guidance, scripture references, and personalized prayers. Not permanently stored on our servers. Not permanently stored by OpenAI. Not used by OpenAI to train AI models. No personally identifiable information is attached to these requests.
3. AI-Generated Responses
Generated by OpenAI based on your text transcript and returned to the app. These include biblical confrontations, scripture passages, and prayers. Stored locally on your device only. Never synced to any cloud server or external database. You can delete individual responses at any time within the app.
4. Emotional State Data
Derived from your text transcript as part of the AI analysis. Represents the emotional or spiritual theme detected in your words (e.g., fear, guilt, hope, pressure). Stored locally on your device only. Never shared externally.
5. Anonymous Usage Analytics
Collected via Google Firebase for app performance monitoring and crash reporting. May include device type, operating system version, app configuration, and timestamps. Does not include your voice recordings, transcripts, or AI-generated responses. Not linked to your identity.
6. Subscription Data
Processed by RevenueCat through Apple’s in-app purchase system. Includes purchase status and subscription period. We do not have access to your payment details, credit card information, or Apple ID.
Third-Party Services and Data Sharing
Bible Answer & Prayer shares data with the following third-party services. Each provider is contractually required to provide equal or greater privacy protections for your data:
OpenAI API
What is sent: Text transcripts of your voice input.
What is NOT sent: Audio recordings, personal identifiers, device information.
Purpose: Generating biblical confrontations, scripture references, and personalized prayers.
Data retention: OpenAI’s API data usage policy states that API inputs and outputs are not used to train their models and are retained for a maximum of 30 days for abuse monitoring, after which they are deleted. RevenueCat
What is sent: Anonymous purchase and subscription status data.
Purpose: Managing in-app subscriptions and purchase verification.

Google Firebase
What is sent: Anonymous device and usage statistics.
What is NOT sent: Voice recordings, transcripts, or AI-generated responses.
Purpose: App performance monitoring and crash reporting.

Data That Stays On Your Device
The following data never leaves your device: voice recordings, AI-generated responses (confrontations, scriptures, and prayers), prayer history, emotional state data, and your saved entries. This data is not synced to any cloud server or external database. If you delete the app, all locally stored data is permanently removed from your device.
Data We Do NOT Collect
Bible Answer & Prayer does not collect your name, email address, phone number, location, contacts, photos, or any other personally identifiable information. No account or login is required to use the app. We do not create user profiles linked to your identity.
User Consent
Before your first recording, Bible Answer & Prayer displays a consent screen explaining that your voice stays on your device, the text transcript is sent to OpenAI for analysis, and your audio is never uploaded or used to train AI models. You must acknowledge this information before any data is processed. No data is sent to any third party without your prior consent.
Log Data
In the event of an error in the app, we may collect anonymous log data through third-party services. This Log Data may include your device type, operating system version, app configuration, timestamps, and other diagnostic statistics. This data does not include your voice recordings, transcripts, or AI-generated responses.
Cookies
Bible Answer & Prayer does not use cookies. However, third-party services integrated into the app may use their own tracking technologies as described in their respective privacy policies.
Children’s Privacy
Bible Answer & Prayer is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children. The app’s content involves faith-based reflection and biblical guidance that is designed for adult users. If you believe a child under 16 has used the Service, please contact us.
Data Deletion
You have full control over your data. Within the app, you can delete individual prayer entries and responses at any time. Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored data from your device. Since we do not store your voice recordings, transcripts, or AI-generated responses on our servers, there is no server-side data to delete. If you wish to confirm that no residual data remains, please contact us.
Security
We value your trust and employ commercially reasonable security measures to protect your information during transmission and processing. Data sent to OpenAI is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
